Regulations on the use of PPE against falls from a height (PPEgA) apply to all persons who regularly or occasionally work at a height in the area at risk of falling. To prevent accidents, employees must always be instructed in accordance with § 12 of the German Occupational Safety Act (ArbSchG). More concrete specifications are given in DGUV regulation 112-198 ("Use of personal protective equipment against falls from a height") and DGUV regulation 112-199 ("Use of personal protective equipment for rescuing from heights and depths"). The user training is obligatory before the first use and subsequently at least once a year.
The training takes into account the required training content for the safe use of PPEgA. The participants acquire extensive knowledge of the relevant state and trade association regulations and the generally recognized rules of technology. The training focuses on the practical application of various protective systems at height.
